this tool works pretty well, it kinda take forever to use to file down all the nails on my pomeranian but other than that it works

I love the idea that I don't need to clip my dogs nail. The machine works ok, sometimes the sand paper rolls don't spin but otherwise works fine

A rotary grinder is by far a better approach for pet nail management (compared to clippers of any kind). After we purchased a peticure tool, cutting our 7y old GSDs nails became much easier (acclimation to tool noise was required, be patient here). The problem we've encountered is that nail dust can work it's way into the motor assembly causing a new, high pitched grinding sound. That is the biggest implementation flaw in the product (I won't ramble about the not-smart battery charger that must be timed or else you'll destroy the battery, there is no other consumer electronic battery charger I am aware of on the market that is not plug-in-and-forget-about-it). I am going to use a cordless Dremel moving foward - that tool is reliable, and long lasting. The only thing missing will be the guard assembly, but if you're careful and your pet stays still for you, that should not be an issue. PRODUCT IDEA - if Peticure designed a "add-on" guard that could be used with a Dremel, I bet many would buy that (and it could be an even higher margin product than the full motor tool); let Dremel deal with making a high quality rotary grinder, make the Peticure product all about making it safe to use.

I hate the way regular nail clippers leave my female cat's nails jagged and torn. I was really hoping this tool would do the trick, but aside from the fact that she hates having her nail touch the dremmel, it is impossible to get the curving, rocking motion needed to really round the nail. At least, not with a cat's very curved claws. Further more, the instructions are poorly written. It took me 20 minutes to assemble the product to look like the picture. And being that MOST people are right handed, you would think the tool was designed to be in your right hand. NO! You are to hold the tool in your LEFT hand, which feels very akward. Not to mention that no where in the instructions did it say which hand to hold the tool in for the correct rotation dirrection of the dremmel. I had to guess based on the pictures (which could have been flipped around!) When I went to their website for help, it was one page that said "Under Construction." Really?? If your product is on TV, and in stores, you should really get with the current technology and have a working website.
I'm fairly confident I will have no problems using this on my parent's dog, especially after taking the time to acclimate her to the tool properly. But I did purchase this product for use on my cats, and it failed. Thankfully, I found it at Petco for only $4.00, and really didn't lose much money on it.

after reading the reviews on the 3 peticures, I feel very lucky with my peticure petite, i have had it for 2 years , I have 5 dogs , from 10 lbs to 27 lbs,I try to trim their nails 2 times per month and i am just now looking at another one , I mostly use it plugged in and am not sure if i have shortened the life of the battery, as it is beginning to drag , even when it is plugged in direct, I am pretty sure I am going to get the peticure power, as i perfer to use the direct power , having 5 dogs to do. with a dremel i have many times got the dremel caught in the dogs hair( made them yelp and felt horrible) , as 4 of mine are cavalier king charles spaniels, and the have the longer ears, tail and lower body hair. so the design of the peticure is great and safe for them and me. If this helps anyone, when I am filing their nails, if they start to give me any trouble, I talk, sing to them , and i always give them a treat after, I am amazed, they actually line up around me as i do one of them so they can get done, I do them out side and i put them up on a table, on a non slip pad, I was thinking that them being up higher , gave me more control and confidence, (like at the petstores when they trim their nails up on the table) A few of my dogs would actually just lay on my lap when i use the peticure.
